Cultural activities were really important for teenagers. They used to go to the theatre, to the movies or to co-ed parties. For Bogdan and his friends going to the theatre was even more important than going to the movies or to parties. From the letters and the diary, we can see that they were writing each other reviews of the plays they watched. Sometimes their opinions were different from the opinions of well-known Warsaw critics. They were not only watching classic plays like Shakespeare etc., but also modern ones like “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. The style of life of typical teenagers in the interwar period was much different compared to now. Nowadays teenagers prefer to binge-watch Netflix or HBO series, and they don’t go to the theatre unless they have to. For Bogdan and his friends, cultural life was really important: they were not only watching the plays, but also forming their own opinions about them and trying to learn as much as they could from them.
