Warsaw before World War II was called ‘Paris of the East’. In this beautiful city Bogdan Kajak lived. Looking at all of his letters, photos and documents we can easily find and show on the map the places that he visited. We know the address of his flat, which is in one of the most recognizable streets in Warsaw: Nowy Świat street. In the documents are also mentioned two churches: St. Alexander’s church, where he was baptized, and the Holy Cross Church, where he received his first Holy Communion.
We must also remember about the National Museum, whose history is almost as tragic as Bogdan’s. During the occupation most of the works of art were stolen and transported to Germany.
We also have photos of him in one of the biggest and most beautiful parks in Warsaw ‘Royal Lazienki Park’.
The last place in Warsaw which Bogdan visited was the ‘Pawiak‘ German prison, in which 100 thousand people were killed and from which many others were sent to concentration camp.
